Former Appalachian State University All-American linebacker Jacque Roman, now the CEO of Money Market Entertainment and member of the hip-hop group Paper Market, has recorded a song in honor of his alma mater titled App State Win Song. The song is available for purchase at the iTunes Store for just 99 cents. The song was written and performed by Paper Market, which consists of Roman and his brother, Quentin. The track was produced and released by Money Market Entertainment, which was founded by Roman in January 2010 and is based in Atlanta.
Money Market Entertainment will donate a portion of the proceeds from sales of the App State Win Song to Hosea Feed The Hungry, a Christian international aid organization that has distributed more than $3 billion in food, clothing, medical, educational, toiletries, furniture and cleaning supplies to 16 Georgia counties, three states and the Philippines, Ivory Coast and Uganda.
"I am so excited about this project,” Roman said. “I hope that every ASU student and fan and their families will purchase the App State Win Song and have it playing before and after every game. The goal is to not only have the App State Win Song become a school anthem but also to be able to donate a large amount of money to Hosea Feed The Hungry.”
Roman was a four-year starter at middle linebacker for the Mountaineers from 2006-09 and amassed 408 tackles in his career, good for fourth all-time at Appalachian. He was a two-time All-American and the 2008 Southern Conference Defensive Player of the Year and graduated from ASU in December 2009 with a degree in organizational/public communications. In addition to the App State Win Song, Paper Market’s new hit single B.I.G. is also available at the iTunes Store.
