The Georgia Southern University football team has suffered a setback. Senior safety Derek Heyden, who is second on the team in tackles with 19 stops, is out indefinitely with a neck injury. The injury is not life-threatening, but Heyden, who also has two interceptions, is under a doctor's care.
Heyden was injuried during last Saturday's game against Western Carolina. The Eagles (3-0 overall; 2-0 Southern Conference) are ranked No.1 in the nation in both The Sports Network Poll and the FCS Coaches Poll.
The Eagles travel to Elon on Saturday.
