WHS Soccer Blanks Another Opponent PDF Print

The Watauga High men's soccer team continued its run through the Northwestern 3A/4A Conference with a shutout win against South Caldwell Monday night in Sawmills.

The Pioneers scored early and often and beat the Spartans 7-0 at Spartans Stadium. Alex Parsons scored seven minutes into the game and the rout was on. It was also WHS (10-3 overall; 3-1 NW3A/4A) registered their eighth shutout of the season.

"We shared it tonight with Jeff (Caldwell) and Jake (Chasteen)," said WHS coach Woody McKay. "It was just gorgeous down here weather wise. I'm real happy we got the match in."

Parsons and Zach Helms paced the Pioneers with two goals and an assist. Chasteen had a goal and an assist; Eli Gailes and Justin Wolfe eached scored as well. Sam Schell, Logan Raichle and Brian Greer all picked up an assist.

The Pioneers return home to play Hibriten Wednesday night. The JV team defeated South Caldwell, 2-0. Trey Ollis and Raul Fornani both scored for the Pioneers; Justin Hall picked up an assist.
