|Mountaineers Ranked Third in FCS & TSN Polls|

The Appalachian State University football team, which begins Southern Conference play Saturday at home against Chattanooga, is ranked third in the FCS Coaches Top 25 and The Sports Network Poll for the third week in a row.The Mountaineers (2-1), who battered North Carolina A&T and Savannah State in their last two games, did receive nine first-place votes in the TSN Poll. The Mountaineers take on Chattanooga in a top-25 match-up in the SoCon opener Saturday at Kidd Brewer Stadium. The Mocs (2-1), who defeated Eastern Kentucky on the road Saturday, are ranked 13th in the TSN Poll and 17th in the FCS Coaches Poll.
Georgia Southern, ASU's bitter rival, is the unanimous No.1 team in the country this week. The Eagles, who had a bye week, are ranked No.1 in both the TSN and FCS Coaches Top 25. The Eagles received 115 first-place votes in the TSN Poll, and they received 23 first-place votes in the Coaches Poll. The Eagles travel to Cullowee to take on Western Carolina Saturday in a 6 p.m. game.
Wofford College, which also had a bye week last Saturday, moved up to eighth in the Coaches Poll; the Terriers (1-1) are ninth in the TSN Poll. The Terriers travel to Birmingham, AL., to play Samford in a 7 p.m. game.
Northern Iowa (second), Montana State (fourth) and Richmond (fifth) round out the top five in the TSN Poll; Northern Iowa (second). Montana State (fourth) and William & Mary (fifth) round out the top five in the FCS Coaches Poll.
William & Mary, Delaware, North Dakota State, Wofford College and Montana round out the top ten in the TSN Poll; North Dakota State, Delaware, Wofford College, Richmond, and Eastern Washington, which is 0-3, round out the top ten in the Coaches Poll. Eastern Washington, last year's national champion, is ranked 21st in the TSN Poll.
