Two Roll-Over Accidents Friday PDF Print

A man was hurt this afternoon in a roll-over accident on private property in the Todd area.  The county 911 center received a call from a person transporting the victim toward Watauga Medical Center saying that the man was in pain suffering a back injury. She said that a Ford Explorer had rolled over on the property ‘6 to 8 times,’ causing the injuries.  Meat Camp first responders were called to their station to meet the woman and the Watauga Medics ambulance for the completion of the trip to the hospital. With the accident on private property, the Watauga Sheriff’s Office may investigate the accident.

A vehicle was found overturned on the Blue Ridge Parkway early this morning, causing Watauga Medics, Blowing Rock Fire/Rescue and Blowing Rock Police to be called.  The vehicle was found at about 4:15am at mile marker 299 on the Parkway, but no one was at the vehicle when emergency services arrived, and after a short time of searching the area to be sure no one was ejected from the overturned vehicle, most units cleared.  Shortly after 5:30, authorities were told that someone checked themselves into a local hospital, apparently suffering injuries from the wreck, then at least two others were identified that had been in the vehicle.  Parkway Police have taken over the investigation into the crash.
