Drive races by 'Dads PDF Print

The Greenville Drive topped the Hickory Crawdads, 10-5, before 2,002 fans at L.P. Frans Stadium on Sunday evening. 

Jake Skole belted a pair of home runs for the 'Dads, driving in four RBIs in the game. After Greenville (77-62, 39-30) took the lead on a solo homer by Christian Vasquez in the top of the first, the Crawdads (79-57,39-29) raced in front with four runs in the bottom of the third inning.  With one out, Jhonny Gomez singled to spark the rally. Braxton Lane walked, putting two runners on, for Jurickson Profar who belted an RBI double that tied the game, 1-1.  Skole followed with his first bomb of the day, a mammoth three-run shot to right field, putting Hickory in front, 4-1.
David Renfroe drove in a run with a ground ball out that made it 4-2 in the fourth ; the Drive, then struck for five runs in the top of the fifth and took the lead, 7-4.  With two on and one out, Travis Shaw collected his first hit as a member of the Drive with an RBI single to center field.  Henry Ramos tied the game with an RBI double. Jackie Bradley, Jr. closed out the rally with a three-run shot over the left field wall.
Skole's second home run of the game, a solo shot in the bottom of the fifth made it 7-5. But an RBI single by Ramos in the sixth inning made it 8-5, and an RBI double by Vasquez and an RBI single by Xander Bogaerts in the seventh applied the finishing touch for Greenville.
NOTES: The Crawdads and Drive wrap up the regular season on Monday at 1 p.m.  It is Galaxy Customer Appreciation Day, so swing by Galaxy on your way to the ballpark to pick up a voucher for a FREE ticket to Monday's game.
