The Watauga Middle School football team is holding a fund raiser to help needy families in the community. According to head coach Dale Allred, the fundraister will be called: Wolverines Running For Community, and this year's proceeds go to a family or families in need. Donors will contribute $1 for every yard the Wolverines have in total offensive yardage during their home game against Hudson on September 21 at Jack Groce Stadium. for the game The maximum donation wil be $100 per donor. If the Wolverines amass 100 yards of total offense, the donor will give $100.  If the Wolverines gain 50 yards in total offense, the donor will contribute $50. And if the Wolverines pick up 200 yards, the donor will contribute $100, which is the maximum donation for this event.
Now the Watauga Middle School football players will accept any donation if a donor would rather contribute a specific amount of money rather than do the yardage program. And the players will present the family or families with the proceeds at the Football Banquet in October.
If you would like to make a donation, please call the following numbers for more information: 773-7729 and 265-3087. Also, coach Allred will be our halftime guest speaking on this subject on Oldies 100.7 FM on September 9, when the Pioneers travel to West Caldwell.
