|ASU Ranked No.2 In FCS Coaches Poll|

The Appalachian State football team received one first-place vote and was ranked second in the Football Championship Sub-Division Series Presesason Coaches Poll on Monday.The Mountaineers, who were 10-3 last season, had 617 points and nosed out Georgia Southern by two points their No.2 ranking. The Eagles (10-5), national semi-finalists last seaon, were third with three first-place votes and 615 points. The Southern Conference had four teams ranked, three in the top eight and two in the top three. Wofford was eighth; Chattanooga was 23rd. Eastern Washington, which won the national championship last season, was No.1 and received 23 of 28 first-place votes. William & Mary (No.4) and Delaware (No.5) round out the top five.
Montana State, Northern Iowa. Wofford. Jacksonville State and New Hampshire round out the top ten; Montana was 12th and Villanova (which eliminated ASU from the FCS playoffs last fall) was 13th. The Colonial Athletic Association had six teams ranked in the top 25.
