An arrest has been made in a breaking and entering, sexual assault, and kidnapping incident that occurred yesterday. On Thursday August 18th, Boone Police responded to Meadowhill Apartments where a woman’s residence had been forcibly entered.

The intruder, a neighbor, pushed her into her apartment, sexually assaulted her, tied her up, and took money before leaving.  The victim made her way to a different neighbor’s apartment and called 911.  She received minor injuries consistent with being bound and was taken by police to Watauga Medical Center for examination. A suspect was located near the New Market Centre and was transported to the Boone Police Department for questioning.  Randy Dean Cribb, age 55 and a locally registered sex offender, was subsequently charged with the felony charges of breaking and entering, first degree kidnapping, second degree sexual assault, and larceny after breaking and entering.  After being taken before a magistrate, Cribb was detained at the Watauga County Law Enforcement Center under a $100,000 secured bond with an October 26, 2011 court date.
