Last Thursday, Avery County Sheriff’s deputies were assisting North Carolina Probation and Parole Officers when they located a meth lab on Tucker Hollow Rd. A number of containers with ingredients for making meth were found, leading to the arrests of thirty-seven year old Gregory Baird and thirty-year old Ruby Clark, both of Elk Park. Baird and Clark were charged with several drug charges and misdemeanor child abuse as a result, and Avery Sheriff Kevin Frye says the incident is still under investigation.
