Numerous news agencies are reporting the arrest of the chief of staff for U.S. Rep. Virginia Foxx this past week in Boone on a charge of driving while impaired. State Highway Patrol reports show 36-year-old William Todd Poole of Winston-Salem was stopped Tuesday along N.C. Highway 105 in Boone.

Troopers say he made a left turn without yielding to oncoming traffic. Court documents show Poole refused to take a Breathalyzer test and so a blood sample was taken. Authorities say the results are expected within a month. So far there has been no comment from Foxx or her office over the arrest.
