The 1st-Half Northern Division Champion Hickory Crawdads shut out the Kannapolis Intimidators, 4-0 before 888 fans at L.P. Frans Stadium on Wednesday night.  The Crawdads are now 10-2 against Kannapolis this season.

The combined efforts of winning pitcher Cody Buckel (6-3) and Ben Rowen (second save) kept the Intimidators (63-49, 26-18) off the scoreboard for the 'Dads seventh shutout win of the season.  Buckel dealt the first six scoreless frames, striking out six batters while allowing only two hits.  Rowen shut the door with the final three innings, surrendering only one hit and one walk, while striking out four.
Hickory (66-47, 26-19) jumped on top with a pair of runs in the bottom of the third against losing pitcher Spencer Arroyo (L, 8-8). Jurickson Profar sparked the charge with a one-out double and quickly stole third base.  After Odubel Herrera walked, Christian Villanueva placed an RBI infield single to score Profar for the 1-0 lead.  A double steal attempt resulted in Herrera being thrown out at third, but Villanueva reached second on the play.  Andrew Clark belted an RBI double to center scoring Villanueva that made it 2-0.
Profar added to the lead when he led-off the fifth inning with a home run stretching the lead to 3-0.  Hickory put the finishing touches on the attack with its final run in the bottom of the seventh inning.  Profar was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning; he stole second base, moved to third on a ground-ball out and scored on a RBI ground out by Villanueva.
NOTES: The 'Dads look to make it two straight against Kannapolis on Thursday at 7 p.m.  It is Thirsty Thursday, with $1 can beers and fountain Pepsis, presented by Buffalo Wild Wings!  Thursday is also 80s Night -- dress up for a Half Off Ticket and then hang out for the post-game concert with Xerockx!  Gates open at 6 p.m.
