A small red sedan ran through a traffic checkpoint at about 9:30 last night on the stretch of NC 88 that is in Watauga County, bordered by the Tennessee line and Ashe County.  Watauga Deputies gave pursuit toward the Tennessee line, but the vehicle managed to pull into a long residential driveway as deputies passed, but the residents there reported the car had come onto their property and left, doubling back on deputies. With that information, the car was soon found entering Ashe County, but there were tense moments as the car was stopped with little back-up.  At about 10pm, deputies at the scene reported that they had made two arrests from the car and were soon on their way to the magistrate’s office to file charges.
