Day 1: Much Traffic, but Few Delays PDF Print

The buses rolled, the carpools, moms & dads--there was lots of traffic, but delays were few and manageable as schools opened in Avery and Watauga.  Avery Sheriff's deputies reported few troubles, Boone officers reported they often did not have to make any changes to the traffic patterns as students arrived. Now the confusion shifts to the sorting of students, looking for their classes.
