The Lees-McRae College men's soccer program begins a new era this season, as former three-time All-American Lee Squires takes the helm to lead the Bobcats through a challenging schedule in search of their fifth consecutive Conference Carolinas championship.

The Bobcats will feature quite a few new faces this fall, welcoming 15 newcomers into the fold while returning seven players from last year's Conference Carolinas Tournament champion squad. Coach Squires' side returns a seasoned core of veterans, including 2010 Daktronics NCAA Division II all-Southeast Region selections David Palmer (South Shields, England) and Luke Duffy (Wakefield, England).

Lees-McRae kicks off its 2011 schedule on Sep. 1, hosting the University of Montevallo in the first match of the Michael Shope Memorial Tournament. The Bobcats will then square off against Flagler College on Sep. 3 to wrap up the tournament, before making the short trip to Hickory, N.C. on Sep. 7 to take on Lenoir-Rhyne University.

Coach Squires' side then returns home to kick off its Conference Carolinas schedule on Sep. 10, hosting St. Andrews Presbyterian College before traveling to Bristol, Tenn. on Sep. 14 to welcome King College (Tenn.) into the league. The Bobcats will then return home to welcome North Greenville University to the conference on Sep. 17, before setting out on a three-match road trip against Tusculum College (Sep, 20), Pfeiffer University (Sep. 24), and Anderson University (Sep. 28).

Lees-McRae will retake the Tate Field pitch on Oct. 1 to celebrate homecoming against Barton College, and after traveling to Carson-Newman College on Oct. 4, will host Queens University of Charlotte and Belmont Abbey College on Oct. 8 and 12. The Bobcats then travel to Mount Olive, N.C. for a conference tilt against Mount Olive College before celebrating senior day on Oct. 19 against Erskine.

The Bobcats will close out their regular season schedule on the road, wrapping up their conference slate at Coker College (Oct. 22) and Limestone College (Oct. 25), before traveling to Milligan College on Oct. 29 ahead of the Conference Carolinas Tournament, which kicks off on Nov. 1.
