Plaxico Burress is back in the National Football League.

In what has been a progressive week for teams around the NFL wheeling and dealing for the upcoming season following the longest lockout in league history, Plexico Burress, nearly a forgotten man, is back in the mix. Burress, who spent the last 20 months in prison, has signed a one-year deal with the New York Jets worth $3 million dollars.
Burress, who accidentally shot himself in the leg at a New York City night club in 2008, agreed to a plea-bargin deal for a lesser firearm charge and was sentenced to two years in prison. He was released early for good behavior.
Burress, who played at Michigan State,  caught the winning touchdown pass in Super Bowl XLII as the Giants defeated the England Patriots, ending their bid for an undefeated season.
Before he joined the Giants, Burress spent his first five years in the NFL with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was first-round pick. Burress has caught 505 passes in his career for 7,845 yards and 55 touchdowns.
