Dustin Harrington, who played at Alexander Central High School, was recently promoted by the Chicago Cubs.

Harrington, a utility player with the Cubs organization, is currently playing for the Daytona Cubs of the Advanced Class A Florida State League. And Harrington has been impressive, so far.
In 19 games, Harrington is hitting .273 with a home run and five RBI in 19 games. He's primarily playing third base for the Cubs, but he's also made two appearances on the mound with successful results. Harrington, who played at East Carolina and was selected by the Cubs in the MLB Draft in 2010, began the year playing for the Boise Hawks of the Class A (short season) Northwest League. He batted a blistering .353 in just five games before he was moved up. In  24 games this season., Harrington is hitting .292; in 82 career minor-league games, Harrington is hitting .286 with two home runs and 16 doubles.
