Ambulance Involved in Avery Wreck PDF Print

An Avery County ambulance was involved in an injury accident last night responding to a call on the back side of Beech Mountain. The ambulance was on Dark Ridge Road when the collision occurred, on its way to a call further out, but because of the damage to the unit—and that there were injuries in the accident—the vehicles could not be moved, blocking the road for the second ambulance, now answering the original med call.  First responders had to use a stretcher and truck to get the original patient around the wreck site to the second ambulance.  Injuries in the crash were not serious, according to personnel at the scene, but it took some time for the state patrol, on another call, to arrive to investigate.
