The Lenoir-Rhyne University Softball Team placed five players on the 2011 NCCSIA All-State College Division Softball Team, the most of any school. NCCSIA is the North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association.

Three of the five players were repeat selections while three of the four infielders donned a Lenoir-Rhyne uniform.
Senior shortstop Kat Rivers (Royston, Ga.) earned all-state accolades for the third straight year while junior second baseman Carlee Carpenter (Newton, N.C.) and junior pitcher Dawon Millwood (Hixson, Tenn.) were repeat selections.
Rivers, a four-time All-South Atlantic Conference pick (2008-11), led Lenoir-Rhyne in batting average (.409) this season to go along with four home runs and 27 RBI.
Rivers was a First-Team All-American and was named the SAC and Southeast Region Player Of The Year in 2010. Rivers leaves L-R as the school's all-time leader in home runs (40) and runs batted in (161).
Carpenter, a three-time all-region (2009-11) and two-time all-conference selection (2010-11), finished second on the squad in batting average this year (.371) while leading the team in hits (66) and a school-record 23 doubles.
Millwood was 27-4 on the season with a 1.47 earned run average and 172 strikeouts and was named the 2011 SAC Pitcher of The Year. Millwood has earned all-league honors the past three years and all-region accolades in 2010 and 2011 including first-team laurels this season by both Daktronics and NFCA. For her career so far, Millwood has compiled a 66-12 record.
Sophomore first baseman Jessica Fellmeth (Waxhaw, N.C.) and freshman outfielder Jody Mizelle (Colerain, N.C.) round out the all-state squad for the Bears.
Fellmeth batted .350 on the year with eight home runs and 38 runs batted in en route to All-South Atlantic Conference and NCAA Division II Daktronics All-Southeast Region honors.
Mizelle, an all-conference and all-region honoree as well, led Lenoir-Rhyne in home runs (15), runs batted in (45) and total bases (122) this year. Mizelle also set the school single-game record with three home runs against Limestone on March 17, 2011.
All five players led Lenoir-Rhyne to a 45-10 record and a No. 10 national ranking. The Bears also won both the South Atlantic Conference Regular Season and Tournament Championships and advanced to the NCAA Division II Southeast Super Regional Tournament for the second straight season.
Founded in 2002, NCCSIA is comprised of sports information professionals from North Carolina's NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA and independent institutions for the purpose of promoting college athletics in the state.
