Lenoir-Rhyne University's Brian Dice has been named to the 2011 NCCSIA All-State College Division Baseball Team. NCCSIA is the North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association.Dice, a senior catcher from Hickory, N.C., earns all-state honors for the second straight season.
This year, Dice led Lenoir-Rhyne in runs scored (41), runs batted in (36) and slugging percentage (.497) en route to All-South Atlantic Conference Second-Team honors.
Dice also batted .321 this spring to go along with six home runs while starting all 47 contests for the Bears.
Dice was an all-state selection as a designated hitter in 2010, when he was named to the all-league first team and garnered NCAA Division II ABCA/Rawlings All-Southeast Region honors.
Dice was a four-year starter for the Bears (2008-11) as well and finished his career with a .350 batting average, 31 home runs and 160 runs batted in.
Founded in 2002, NCCSIA is comprised of sports information professionals from North Carolina's NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA and independent institutions for the purpose of promoting college athletics in the state.
Membership is open to anyone affiliated with a college, university or conference located in North Carolina whose responsibilities include sports information.
