|Eagles Receive Lone SoCon Bid to NCAA Regionals|

Georgia Southern, which defeated Samford 1-0 Sunday at Riley Park in Charleston to win the Southern Conference tournament championship, is the only SoCon team headed to the NCAA Regionals this coming weekend.The Eagles (36-24) will play South Carolina in the opening round of the Columbia Regional Friday night at 7 pm. Stetson University and North Carolina State round out the four-team field. The winner advances to Super Regionals against the Clemson regional winner, June 10-12.
Virginia, which won the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament by beating Florida State on Sunday, is the No.1 overall seed. Florida State and North Carolina are among the top eight seeds in the 64-team field. The Seminoles (42-17), who will host a regional in Tallahassee this weekend, are seeded fifth. The Tar Heels (45-14), who will host a regional in Chapel Hill, are seeded third.
The ACC and the Southeastern Conference each had seven teams selected for NCAA regional play; the Big 12 and the Pac 10 each had six teams chosen.
