James Eichmiller has stepped down as wrestling coach at Watauga High School.
Eichmiller officially resigned on May 20. He was an assistant coach for three years at WHS under John Mark Bentley (currently the head coach at Appalachian State University) before taking over the program as head coach. The Pioneers produced six regional qualifiers and two state qualifiers---Demetre Kostis and Gus Coffey---this past season.
During his five-year stay as head coach, Eichmiller produced four state finalists and six state quailifiers.
