NW3A/4A Track & Tennis All-Conference Teams Announced PDF Print

The Northwestern 3A/4A Conference has released its All-Conference teams in men's tennis and in men's and women's track & field.

The WHS women's track team, which won the conference championship, led the way with 13 selections. Darby Middlebrook was named first-team all-conference in the 1600-, 800- meter runs. She was also named the co-Runner of the Year. Sydney Cook, who will attend Appalachian State University this fall, was named first-team all-conference in the pole vault and the high jump.
Kasey Jones was named first team in the 100-and 300-meter high hurdles. The Pioneers also earned first-team accolades in the 4x800 and 4x400 relays. Other first-team selections were: Julia Roberts in the 400 and Madison Harmon in the 3200
On the men's side, the Pioneers, who captured the conference crown, had ten all-conference selections. And they dominated in the field events. Jordan Pineda, the Field Event Athlete of the Year, was named first team in the shot put and the discus. Jake Pifer was first team in the high jump and Reid Harris was first team in the pole vault.
WHS was also named first team in the 4x400 and 4x100 relays. Other first teamers for the men were: Daniel Osborne in the 3200 and Stephen Schmal in the 200. Randy McDonough of the Pioneers was named men's and women's NW3A/4A Conference Coach of the Year.
THe WHS men's tennis team had four all-conference selections: Steve Lake, Michael Smith, Harrison Battle and Landon Taylor. Lake and Smith were also named co-Players of the Year.
