Watauga High football coach Tim Pruitt has announced that the Pioneers will host Alexander Central in their Homecoming game on Friday, October 7.

The Pioneers hosted Alexander Central for Homecoming last year at Jack Groce Stadium, but a power outage force the teams to change locations. Thanks to Appalachian State Athletics Director Charlie Cobb and the ASU athletic staff, the game was played at Kidd Brewer Stadium.
"Hopefully, the lights will stay on this year," Pruitt said in a humorous tone.
The Pioneers kick-off the 2011 season at home against A.C. Reynolds on Friday night, August 19.
