She may only stand five-foot-five, but former Watauga High softball player Kara Tester, currently a freshman at Walters State Community college in Morristown, TN, has put together a productive season this spring.Tester, a four-year varsity player, was a three-time all-conference, all-region performer for the Pioneers during her prep career. In 40 games this spring, Tester, who's playing left field for the Senators, has three home runs, 13 runs-batted-in with a .286 batting average. And Tester has turned in her share of productive games for the Senators this spring.
Her best performance of the year came against Roane State on February 19. Tester had two hits, including a home runs, she scored a run and drove in a career-high six runs in a 10-4 win. She went 3-3 with two runs scored in a win against Dyersburg State on April 9; she was 2-3 against Volunteer State on March 19; she was 3-3 with a run scored against Aiken State on March 17; She was 2-4 with three runs scored and two RBI against Roane State on March 4; she was 3-5 with two runs scored against Lee University on March 3; and she had two hits with two runs scored with two RBI against Patrick Henry on February 12;
Walters State (35-9) entertains Milligan College in a double-header on Saturday.
