The woes continue for Madison Bumgarner of the San Francisco Giants.

The lefthander from South Caldwell High School had a no-decision Sunday afternoon against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Bumgarner coughed up four earned runs on Sunday in 6 2/3 innings of work as Arizona rallied to beat the Giants 6-5 in 12 innings at Chase Field in Phoenix, AZ. Bumgarner left with a 5-4 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning,  but the Giants couldn't maintain the lead.
Bumgarner (0-2 with a 7.36 earned-run-average) threw 100 pitches, gave up eight hits, walked one and struck out two. But he has yet to show any of the success he had last fall.
The 21-year-old, who was 2-0 with a sparkling 2.18 ERA in four post-season appearances, has had some anxious moments as San Francisco's No 5 starter in 2011. Opponents are hitting a whopping .406 against him this season. He lasted only three innings in his first start of the year in a loss against San Diego on April 5; Bumgarner went five innings in his home debut last Monday against the Dodgers in a 6-1 loss at AT&T Park.
