The first signs of actual road work are evident above Blackberry Road in the start of the final leg of four-laning of US 321 through Blowing Rock, and the latest round of displaced businesses include the Blowing Rock Chamber, Visitor’s Center, and Tourism Development Authority. In an announcement this afternoon, it was revealed that the widening will cause the separation of the Chamber and TDA, with the TDA already receiving commitment to move to the new Blowing Rock Art & History Museum at Main and Chestnut at the south end of the downtown business district.  Charles Hardin, Blowing Rock Chamber of Commerce Executive Director said “At this point in the construction timeline, (of BRAHM) suitable space could not be provided without considerable alteration and consequent cost to the project.  We believe the museum is a great location for the TDA offices and look forward to rejoining them (TDA) when the road construction is complete at a location to be determined. Tracy Brown, TDA Executive Director said "This is a great opportunity for the Visitor Center to take space in a beautiful, new facility that incorporates state-of-the-art amenities, public restrooms and free parking,” and “With most of the traffic on Main Street coming from the south, this location is perfect for arriving visitors.”
