UPDATED: WHS-FTF Rescheduled For Jan. 26 PDF Print

Watauga High Athletic Director Tom Wright has announced that the WHS-Fred T. Foard basketball games that were snowed out Friday, January 11 will now be made up on Wednesday, January 26 at Lentz-Eggers Gym.

It all begins with the JV girls at 4 pm that night . The Pioneers have had two games postponed in the last four days because of bad weather. The Pioneers  travel to Hickory Friday night. Our coverage for that game begins at 6 pm on Oldies 100.7 FM.

Now, Mother Nature is making things very tough on the region this week. Wintry weather forced the cancellation of two Northwestern 3A/4A games last night (Fred T. Foard @ South Caldwell and Hickory @ St. Stephens). On top of that, the Hickory school district and Catwaba County schools were closed again today, and will be out again on Thursday. The only excpetion is Newton-Conover, which will be on a two-hour delay.
Catawba County has a policy that if school is canceled, no athletic events will be held that day. Which means, if Hickory doesn't go to school on Friday, there's a good chance the WHS game Friday night will not be played.
