An arrest has come from yesterday’s incident at a Boone Pawn& Music. Boone Police say two men entered the Boone Pawn Shop on highway 321 at about 2pm and attempted to sell an Ipod, but when their request was denied one of the men produced a folding knife in a threatening manner. The pawn shop owner demanded that the men to leave the store—making his point at gunpoint.  Boone Police were called and located the two a short distance away in front of the Pantry where they were taken into custody.
After questioning, one of the men was released and the other, Zaki Rahaim Smith age 20 of Boone, was charged with one count of attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon.  Smith was taken before a magistrate where he received a $15,000 secured bond and a November 4, 2010 court date.  The knife in question was later identified as stolen in a breaking and entering to a Boone residence.  Smith was subsequently charged with felony breaking or entering, felony larceny, and felony possession of stolen property.  He was given an additional $15,000 secured bond and the same November 4, 2010 court date.
