A man was killed late this morning at Echota in Foscoe after falling and hitting his head.  The Watauga Sheriff’s Department identified the man as 52-year old Jefferson D. Morgan of Raleigh. Witnesses said Morgan and his wife were walking on the steep slope behind the south-facing units when the accident occurred. Morgan reportedly fell, striking his head on a rock, killing him.  Foscoe fire, rescue units, and Watauga Medics rushed to the scene, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.  The Watauga Sheriff’s Department filed a report on the accidental death.
