Terry Hartley is moving on.  Following three successful years as Watauga High's women's tennis coach. Hartley, who led WHS to a pair of conference championships has resigned. He officially turned in his resignation last Thursday. Hartley is stepping down for personal reasons.
"My business is really starting to take off," he said. "And it is demanding a lot of my time. I'm sorry to have to do this, but I have a very enjoyable time working with the girls and the tennis program the last three years.
WHS showed its worth by finishing third at the Twin-City Class in Winston-Salem this past weekend. The Pioneers posted victories against such state powers as Raleigh Cardinal Gibblons and Wilmington New Hanover.
Hartley  will be replaced by Scott Taylor, who is currently the men's tennis coach at WHS. The Pioneers play three matches in three days beginning tomorrow night with Fred T. Foard. The Pioneers are 4-1 this season.
