One More Hot One--Then Some Relief PDF Print

The temperature at 4pm Saturday afternoon coming through Wilkes County hit 102 at a few points, but more areas stayed in the 101 range.  Boone saw 93 in most place--some of the hottest seen here, making some of us long for a sample of the weather from the past winter.  There was no rain to be found to relieve the heat, but a cool down is expected as a frontal system comes through late this afternoon bringing showers tonight and in the morning, and by the first of the week we'll cool down to more normal readings for the last week of July.  Advice:  Ice cream and a Parkway adventure to stay cool.
