Newland Riverwalk Summer Concert Series 2012 kicks off this Friday, and will be held every Friday night across from Lowes Foods, Downtown Newland from 6-9 pm. running thru August 31, rain or shine. The rain location has been moved to the Rock Gym located adjacent to Newland Elementary School. The summer series is sponsored by the Town of Newland and the Newland Business Association. Along with free music, entertainment and dancing there are vendors with hot dogs, pizza, sodas, water, desserts and more. Enjoy performances by the Lees-McRae Summer Theater! Local Avery County talent is welcome to perform via open mike during the 20 minute half-time break. There is also a brand new dance floor so wear your dancing shoes! Weekly prizes will be given out throughout the evening via drawings and trivia questions.
