Man Walks Away From Watauga Plane Crash PDF Print

A single-engine plane, said to be registered in Canada, crashed Friday evening near Beech Mountain, but the pilot and lone occupant managed to walk away from the crash site.  Residents near Lovie Presnell road reported hearing the engine sputter, (Photos; Jim Landis) then the impact at about 6:30 Friday, but found the pilot walking around near the scene.  He was taken by Watauga Medics to be checked, but appeared to have suffered little effect of the crash. Watauga Rescue, Shawneehaw Fire, the Watauga Sheriff’s Office all responded along with the State Highway Patrol, said to be in communication with the National Transportation Safety Board, which investigates civil aviation accidents in the United States.
