Rangers at the Blue Ridge Parkway have a week’s worth of free programs for kids at the Julian Price Park.
According to Ranger Amy Renfranz, the event is called Price Pals and free events will be held every day this week.
Today’s free event was called Bears, Berries, and Burgers. Tomorrow morning at 11:00, rangers will meet with Junior Rangers and talk about herbivores that call the Parkway home.
The Junior Rangers will have a scavenger hunt at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday and a forest feast at 11:00 Thursday morning.
Friday serves as a kind of grand finale for Price Pals Week 2009 as kids will learn wilderness survival tips from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00.
All these events are free and open to the public.
