Meth Lab in Backpack Leads to Two Arrests PDF Print

A backpack placed in a dumpster roused suspicions of a caller to Lenoir Police Tuesday afternoon, causing officers to inspect the trash dumpster at Barlowe’s Laundry, 325 NW Harper Avenue.  Officers discovered what appeared to be bottles containing methamphetamine precursor chemicals just after 4:30, the chemicals generally used in the process of making methamphetamine, Police describing them as ‘very hazardous.’ The North Carolina SBI was contacted and lab personnel responded to the scene, confirming the presence of a methamphetamine lab, collecting the backpack and its’ continents. After a brief search, officers located the suspects, arresting Anna Dickerson, 18, of Madison, Ohio and 19-year old Dakoda Church, of Thompson, Ohio, charging them for Manufacture of Methamphetamine and Possession of Methamphetamine.  Both Dickerson and Church were set $100,000.00 secured bonds, with first appearances set for Thursday.  Police say more charges will be forth coming.
