Building Destroyed in Early Morning Fire PDF Print

Fire destroyed a building adjacent to a Cranberry Springs Road home early this morning in spite of the firefighting effort of a number of area volunteer departments.  The call came in at about 1:45 this morning to a property near the Brownwood Road intersection with Cranberry Springs, first arriving Deep Gap units reporting that the structure was fully involved.  Deep Gap was soon joined by Fleetwood, Todd, Meat Camp, and Champion, but the building was soon on the ground in spite of the effort.  Owner Johnny Parsons said he wasn’t aware of the fire until someone banged on his door.  It appeared that equipment from a beekeeping operation was left on in the structure, and that hot wax spilled onto a flammable surface to cause the fire. BREMCO was called to the scene to deal with power issues.
