Boone Chamber Warns of Solicitation Scam PDF Print

The Boone Area Chamber of Commerce is issuing a warning about the solicitation of a Texas firm, claiming to be working on behalf of the local chamber. The email to members says that Sterling Business Promotions of Grand Prairie, Texas has been soliciting High Country businesses stating that they are working on behalf of the Boone Chamber and with the permission of the chamber, but the release from the Chamber says that this is not true. The Chamber is urging businesses to be careful and cautious  and to always check advertising promotions with the local firm they say they are working for to verify that they are doing legitimate solicitation of High Country companies.  The Watauga Schools issued a similar warning about a Texas company saying they were working with the schools—Hardin Park—on a promotion, and that turned out to not be true.
