Three vehicles were heavily damaged, but injuries were not regarded as serious at the scene of a mid-afternoon crash on NC 105 in Boone.  First arriving Boone Police reported that no one claimed to be injured in the triple rear-end collision in the inside south-bound lanes, but eventually two ambulances were called to the scene, and Watauga Medics transported patients to Watauga Medical Center.  Boone Police had to deal with traffic that first was backed up in the south-bound lanes, then in the north-bound lanes as wreckers arrived to deal with the vehicles.  The crash is under investigation of Boone Police.
