An inmate who escaped from a work assignment Friday was recaptured late yesterday afternoon miles from where he had been working. Inmate John R. Fullwood, 51, was captured without incident at about 5:20 p.m. Sunday in Clyde, just west of Asheville.   He was transported to Mountain View Correctional Center in Spruce Pine and will face a charge of felony escape.  Fullwood walked away Friday morning from a contract work assignment at the North Carolina Arboretum in Asheville and corrections and law enforcement officers have been searching for him since. Fullwood was assigned to the Buncombe Correctional Center at the time of his escape.  He had been serving a 6 to 8 year term for discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle, and was due for release three years from now.
