Double Collision Blocks NC 105, Causes Injuries PDF Print

A first wreck led to a second on NC 105 Tuesday evening, the second collision leading to injuries.  The first wreck was just before 7:30 last night, ending with a 2005 Jeep Cherokee on its side at the 105-Broadstone Road intersection after it ran into some snow and struck the embankment. As Foscoe Fire Department members were setting up to control traffic through the site, a black VW slammed into the overturned vehicle, pushing it into the two people standing near the first wreckage, including the driver of the first vehicle. The trooper said that Tyler Crane, listing a Banner elk address, was unable to see the overturned vehicle with its dark side facing traffic. The impact spun the Jeep and righted it back on its wheels. Watauga Medics treated Jeffrey Carlton of Lewisville on the scene and transported him to Watauga Medical Center, non-emergency traffic.  The state patrol has both accidents under investigation, charges said to be pending.
