The Watauga Commissioners voted Tuesday to take funds from the reserve set aside for the old Watauga High demolition to pay for additional asbestos abatement, with more found as workers take apart interior areas of the school.
Commissioners approved something over $37,000 from the $100,000 reserve fund to deal with the additional asbestos, which has to be cleared before the rest of the building can be torn down. Commissioner David Blust voted against the expense as a continuation of his opposition to the destruction of the old school. |
