Fred McAlister Trammell, 82, of Linville Land Harbor, North Carolina, died Friday, August 1, 2014.
He was born in Greenville, S.C., son of the late Fred Miles Trammell and Hazel McAlister Trammell. He graduated from Greenville High School, attended Clemson College then transferred to Oglethorpe University in Atlanta to major in Humanics. Fred devoted most of his career to Boy Scout of America as Executive Director in numerous states on the East Coast as well as Hidelburg Germany, where he served as Field Director to 22 Countries.
From 2000 to 2010, Fred and his wife spent the winter in Orlando, Florida and the summer in Linville Land Harbor. Since 2012 they have been full time residents of North Carolina.
Fred is survived by his wife of 63 years, Doris; son Kermit and his wife Kim and their daughter Heather of Linville Land Harbor, N.C.; Chris and his wife Lisa of Clarmont, FL.; and sister Glenna Williams of Greenville, S.C. and Linville Land Harbor, N.C.
A Celebration of Life Service will be announced at a later date.
