Mae Shore Guarneri, age 99, of Blowing Rock, passed away Friday afternoon, May 9, 2014, at Blowing Rock Rehab and Davant Extended Care in Blowing Rock.
Mrs. Guarneri was born April 25, 1915 in Watauga County, a daughter of the late Robert Shore, Sr. and Lester Hodges Shore. She was a retired medical secretary.
Mrs. Guarneri is survived by one brother, Robert H. Shore and wife Jannette of Blowing Rock, and one sister, Floy White of Marietta, Georgia. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Guarneri; three brothers, Hal Shore, Burmah Shore, and Jay Shore, and one sister, Belle Shore.
Funeral services for Mae Shore Guarneri will be conducted Sunday afternoon, May 11, 2014, at 2:00 o'clock, at Hampton Funeral Home Chapel. The body will lie in state, at the chapel, from 1:30 until 2:00 o'clock. Officiating will be Donald G. Critcher. Entombment will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon, from 1:30 until 2:00 o'clock, at the funeral home, prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
