Margaret Hollars 'Peggy' Miller, 71, of Blackberry Road, Lenoir, passed away Monday, January 13th 2014, at her home.
Born May 21, 1942 in Caldwell County, she was a daughter of Horace and Ruth Trexler Hollars. Peggy's love in life was her family, especially enjoying her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. One of her favorite hobbies was tending to her flower gardens. Peggy was known as 'Mamaw' to her many friends and customers at various Boone convenience stores where she was employed as a clerk for many years.
She is survived by her husband, Kent Miller; son, Jeff Miller of Lenoir; three grandchildren, Aaron Messer and Michelle Greene and husband Jason, both of Boone, and Nicole Messer and friend, Joseph Stevenson, of Lenoir; two great-grandchildren, Dylan Greene and J. J. Stephens, both of Lenoir; and her sister, Margaret Cochran of Tennessee.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Krystal Messer.
Memorial services will be conducted Thursday, January 16th, at 7:30 PM at the Austin & Barnes Funeral Chapel, officiated by Rev. William Adams and Rev. Charles E. McKinney. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 until 7:30, prior to service, at Austin & Barnes. Graveside services, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church Cemetery, will be private.
