Vera Perry Isenhour, age 86, of Julius Drive, Zionville, passed away Saturday morning, November 23, 2013.
Mrs. Isenhour was born April 4, 1927 in Watauga County, a daughter of the late Roscoe and Ella Fletcher Perry. She was a retired sales clerk for Belk Department Store, and a member of Brushy Fork Baptist Church.
Mrs. Isenhour is survived by a daughter, Sharon Isenhour and companion Jerry Hunter, and two sons, Larry Isenhour and wife Texie, and Robert M. "Mike" Isenhour and wife Lisa, all of Zionville, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, and one sister, Ethel Bumgarner and husband Maynard of Lynchburg, Virginia. She is also survived by numerous friends and her church family at Brushy Fork Baptist Church, where she was a member for many years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Joe "Pete" Isenhour.
Funeral services for Vera Perry Isenhour will be conducted Tuesday afternoon, November 26, 2013, at 2:00 o'clock at Brushy Fork Baptist Church. The body will lie in state, at the church, from 1:00 until 2:00 o'clock. Officiating will be Reverend Toby Oliver and Reverend Peter Vandenberg. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday evening, from 6:00 until 8:00, at Hampton Funeral Service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Brushy Fork Baptist Church, 3915 Highway 421 N, Vilas, NC 28692.
