Rachel Millsaps Arnette, age 83, of Timber Ridge Road, Sugar Grove, passed away Saturday afternoon, October 5, 2013, at Watauga Medical Center.

Mrs. Arnette was a homemaker, and a member of Timbered Ridge Baptist Church.

Mrs. Arnette is survived by her husband, Boyd W. Arnette, of the home; three daughters, Margaret Reece and husband Darryel of Elk Park; Mildred Denney of Clemmons; and Patricia Horn of Winston Salem; three grandsons, Gregory Reece of Sugar Grove; Brock Denney and Kevin Denney of Clemmons; two granddaughters, Nicole Shomaker and husband Travis of Sugar Grove; and Amanda Horn of Winston Salem; two great-granddaughters, Avery Denney of Winston Salem and Brooke Shomaker of Sugar Grove; two brothers, Arvel Millsaps and wife Pauline, and Allen Millsaps and wife Gail of Sugar Grove; three sisters, Julie Parks and Betty Younce of Toledo, OH; and Kathryn Stapleton and husband Claude of Boone. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Arnette was preceded in death by her parents, Roscoe Millsaps and Mamie Dishman Millsaps.

Funeral services for Mrs. Rachel Millsaps Arnette will be conducted Tuesday afternoon, October 8, 2013, at 2:00 o'clock at Hampton Funeral Home Chapel. The body will lie in state, at the chapel, from 1:00 until 2:00 o'clock. Officiating will be Reverend Derick Wilson and Reverend Ray Greene. Burial will follow in the Greene Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday evening, October 7, 2013, from 6:00 until 8:00 o'clock, at Hampton Funeral Service.
