Mrs. Dare Greer Isaacs, age 89, of 12216 Highway 421 North, Zionville, passed away Tuesday morning, September 3, 2013, at her home.
Mrs. Isaacs was born May 28, 1924 in Watauga County, a daughter of the late William Henley Greer and Elmina Oliver Greer. She was a retired enviromental services employee for Watauga Medical Center, and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Mrs. Isaacs is survived by one daughter, Sue Isaacs and husband Gary of Vilas; five sons, Bob Isaacs and wife Gail of Zionville, Hal Isaacs and wife Lynne of Lenoir, Carlton Isaacs and wife Mary of Zionville, Lynn Isaacs of the home, and Teddy Isaacs and wife Teresa of Boone, and one brother, Don Greer of Zionville. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, six step great-grandchildren, two great great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd Isaacs; four sisters, June McGlammery, Ethel Perry, Martha Greer, and Mae Thomas, and seven brothers, Fontz Greer, Reverend Arnt Greer, Norman Greer, Raymond Greer, Von Greer, Clay Greer, and Mylo Greer.
Funeral for Mrs. Dare Greer Isaacs will be conducted Thursday evening, September 5, 2013, at 7:00 o'clock, at Hampton Funeral Home Chapel. The body will lie in state, at the chapel, from 5:00 until 7:00 o'clock. Officiating will be Reverend Bill Hayden, Reverend Thomas Brown, and Reverend T.J. Wilson. Graveside services and burial will be conducted Friday morning, at 11:00 o'clock, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday afternoon, from 5:00 until 7:00 o'clock, at Hampton Funeral Service.
