A Boone woman was injured as a car ran the red light at Old US 421 and US 421 during the lunch hour, a wreck blamed on dense fog.  47-year old Tina Gragg had the green light on Old US 421 crossing the new highway, according to trooper Searcy, but as she entered the intersection, her vehicle was struck by the vehicle of a Salem, Virginia woman, heading into Boone.  The crash caused Tina Gragg injuries for which she was transported to Watauga Medical Center by Watauga Medics while Boone Fire kept other traffic away from the nearly invisible scene, and, in fact, moved the wrecked vehicles due to the danger to approaching traffic. 64-year old Nancy Troutman was cited for the red light violation in the 12:40pm wreck.
