Carter County Sheriff Dexter Lunsford says a deputy shot in the face and another woman shot in the hand last Wednesday night are recovering, that after several of his deputies along with the woman who had called the Sheriff’s Office came under fire.

Carter County Tennessee officials are investigating the death of a man in an overnight fire Tuesday to Wednesday. Early Wednesday morning,  Deputies of the Carter County Sheriff’s Office responded to 109 Townsend Circle, Johnson City TN to a call of a structure fire.  

The first calls were of a  man face down in his driveway, but first passing motorists did not stop—an Avery County man found stabbed in the neck in an incident yesterday afternoon in the far corner of Avery off US 321.

A man was seriously injured in a fight Tuesday night that occurred at a workplace, a fight over use of a trash bin. 

A new service in the Town of Boone will be available for those who cannot safely call 911 in an emergency, or those individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing or have a speech disability—now you can text 9-1-1. Boone Police Department 911 center completed testing December 15th and has begun accepting texts to 911.

A Watauga County man will spend at least seven years in prison after pleading guilty to robbery with a dangerous weapon and second-degree kidnapping in connection with the attempted carjacking of an elderly Caldwell County woman from back in May.
